April - June 1917 Vol/pg 7a 56 District Blaby I have today been told there is no such entry. Can any one help & tell me where I went wrong. Perhaps you specified too much when ordering. Did you mention the parent's names? Rose

I only gave Fathers full name and Mothers maiden name. My grandmothers full name was Annie Jessie Phllips but I omitted 'Jessie' in case it was not on the cert only added at her christening. Where do I go now.....no living relatives on this side !

There's an Ethel born in 1913 too - on FreeBMD.

If you named the father, then it would have been used as a checking point and this one didn't match. Are you sure you have the right Annie? What does it say in the death indexes for her dob?

Reply from Denise: From Denise No I am guessing by eliminating other Annies around that time. William Phillips is named on her marriage cert as father-deceased Dee

'Deceased' fathers are sometimes a convenient cover for illegitimacy......not always, of course. Reg
