Eileen Thank you so much, It helps me alot, Ann Feek was my gt gt grandmother, on her marriage certificate when she married Samuel Coates she is Ann a year later when she registered her sons birth her name is put as Betsey and in the 1881 census she is Hannah, ive been trying to find her birth but as yet no luck (only a couple that are wrong) Im wondering if that Elizabeth is her! I can now look into these people and see what happens. thanks again Jill (norwich)

Hi Jill, Eileen and Frances. Just had to say hi to you as i am also a Norwich girl. Eileen i have some family i havent started looking into yet, but they are Norfolk based, and i was just wondering what you were using to find things on the 1841 and 51? Is it a CD? and if so would you recommend getting it? At the moment i am concentrating on family out of Norfolk, but i want to start on my 'locals' in the new year and have been thinking of investing in cds to cut down on the time i spend at the Forum! Regards Yvette

hi to "all the Norwich girls" maybe we should start a thread for "Norwich girls info page" Yvette the 1851 census is a cd from the LDS site its very good, and costs £6. money well spent! the 1841 is from stepping stones, costs about £36, its not indexed so takes a while to search, also some pages are very hard to read,as it the original census. I don't think I would buy it unless you have a lot of rellies in norfolk. sorry I have not answered sooner, been to work! best regards Eileen

As for the late reply, thats ok i have only just come online myself...had visitors tonight, nice to see them, but i was itching to get online to do some follow ups, lol. Anyway, if we cant have our own thread we will have to keep this one going........ regards Yvette

Hi Frances and Jill Well i made it down as well, got there nice and early while they were fairly quiet, but it soon got busy! Could have spent a fortune but managed to restrain myself and only bought a family tree programm i had been hoping to get, and a couple of huge charts for the wall.....i wont need to decorate for a while now, lol. As for the NFHS...i joined up and plan to have a look at the records in Kirby Hall this week, i am hoping they will have a few things i cant find elsewhere. Did you get asked where you heard about the fair when you arrived? We did and when i said GC they had never heard of it!!!! When i explained they said they would look into it, and see if it was any good, of course i told them it was great....lol Anyway, this cd i have will keep me quiet for a few nights now, so my husband is happy. Regards Yvette

Hi Jill I have a William Feek born 1831 Thorpe Norfolk who is possibly a relative of your lot, possibly the brother listed on the census living with your family. I believe that Williams parents were Edward born abt 1790 and Elizabeth Stannard. Are they the same family as yours? William came to New Zealand in 1875. I have info on his family if you are interested.
