I am trying to track down one Nancy DRAPER/JEPSON (b abt 1831). I am unsure as to what her name is. I think DRAPER may have been a maiden name. She had a brother George and possible more siblings that i don't know of. Her daughter Mary Ann JEPSON was born abt 1859. Nancy is reputed to have been born in Beltoft. Many thanks in advance. Sonja

Dawn---could you possibly look one up for me too?? The Name I'm after is Clare. George Frederick Clare married in Marshchapel in 1858 but was born in 1837 in Hunts so I was wondering when the family moved there. He lived in Louth. His father was also George but I don't know any more. Thanks

Dawn that would be fantatsic, but only if you have the time! I have no address which will probably be the downfall for the project! Don't worry too much about it if it is going to take you hours and hours as it not of National Importance right at this minute!! Many thanks. Warm regards Sonja in Oz on a grey, overcast and slightly sultry morning.

Sonja, No Draper or Jepson in Beltoft in 1841. Lincs '41 and '61 CDs are raw data, not indexed by name ,so you need good place clues.

Hi Dawn/John I am trying to find out who was the husband of Hannah Storr. She was born in Ashby Lincs in 1811. Her married name would have been Fisher and she had a daughter Maria Storr Fisher who was born about 1839 in Ashby Lincs. Any info would be a great help Terry on the Rock

Terry, Which Ashby? There are several in Lincs. Had a very quick look in 1841 at the Ashby which is now part of Scunthorpe and couldn't see anything.

Hi John Apols for taking some time to get back to you, I couldn't log back on to the site (must be busy). I believe the Ashby in question is near Bottesford and the district is Glanford Brigg. Does this help ? Terry on the Rock

Same answer Terry- no Fishers in Ashby or Bottesford in 1841. I used to walk 2 miles to go to Saturday morning Matinees in Ashby High St...pre TV...these days my kids just switch on Cartoon channel before they're even awake. Trivia aside, anything else I can do? I have 1861 too. John in Aus

Can anyone answer the question above about the Clares? Thanks.

Hi again John It's just taken me nearly an hour to get back on to GC, so apols for not replying earlier. I have Hannah still alive on the 1891 census as a widow pauper. She is living with her daughter & son-in-law in: Bottesford Lane, Bromby, Ashby, Lincs and it states that she was born in Ashby. I also have her on the LDS site as being baptised on 14 April 1811 in Bottesford. If you can help out any further I'll really appreciate it. I'm not sure whether I'll be able to get back on to GC later tonight, but will check the board tomorrow just in case. Once again, many thanks for trying. Terry

Shannette, Louth comprises 19 unindexed enumeration districts--hundreds of pages of raw data.I'm not game to wade through it on a "maybe" You mentioned in another thread that one of your Clares was married in Marshchapel. The village has a website with a capable genealogy service. That might give you a start. John in Aus

Terry, You probably saw the 1881 entry for Hannah Fisher in Sculcoates, Yorks ( visitor,68,grocer, b Ashby, Lincs ) In 1861 it is confusing...Household in Ashby Village(RG9/2401, pg6): Elizabeth Middleton, head ,W, 73, Ag lab widow, b Lincolnshire Middleton Flinton, grandson, Un ,17 ,Carter, b Ashby Hannah Fisher ,daur , Mar ,49, Ag lab wife, b Ashby Thomas Wilson, lodger, Un , 50, Ag lab ,b England No sign of any other Fisher in Ashby. The census was April 15, which might coincide with the agricultural hiring fairs. This Hannah was definitely shown as married, not widowed. There was also a Hannah Middleton bap 1812 in Bottesford, on IGI, so we may have different people here.

John thanks for replying. I contacted the Marshchapel site quite a while ago and they were brilliant but I'm still stuck. I'll have to try another line of enquiry. Thanks anyway.

Morning John At last I've managed to get back on to GC - don't know what the problem with the site was. Yes - I've seen that entry for Hannah on the 1881 census - it could be the same person. It doesn't mention where she is a widow or not (that could have helped a little). As for what you have found on 1861, it certainly is confusing. If this indeed my Hannah, where is Mr Fisher as Hannah is described as a wife, not widow ?? Ah well, back to the brick wall. Many thanks for you input. Best wishes from a rainy Gibraltar

Shannette I have the 1841 Louth area index on my pc. There is no Clare or Clair on the index for Louth or Mablethorpe. George

George---Thanks for the look up. I know they were there by 1858 but don't know when they left Huntingdon.
