I am looking for William Woodruff (Corporal in 2nd Bat 3rd Buffs Regiment in 1870 at Aldershot South Camp). The birth of 1st child Frederick in Jan 1870 was registered in Farnham in the sub-district of Frimley in the counties of Surrey and Southampton. His wife was Mary nee Brown, born Limerick, he was born Glossop. Can't find either spouse in births or marriages. Is it possible for you to look-up the 1871 census to see if they were still in this area in 1871. There is no sign of them at North Camp, Hants. I have them on 1881 census in Hougham Kent when Wm was not in the army. Thank you, Margaret

Hi Margaret Have checked the camp at Aldershot but no sign of them. I'll try checking the main town of Aldershot and Farnham and see if they were there. Sue

Oh thanks Sue, I will keep everything crossed. They are proving very illusive from birth to 1881. Margaret
