Michele, Thank you very much I have -e- mailed you, I cant thank people enough for the help I have received from this Genes site, I have been with the fr web site for a long time but only recently subscribed to the genes side and cant wait for my son to visit us next week and shed more light on the (at the time) Samuel Mccalpin mystery, We have also contacted a long lost cousin who has shed somemore light on the subject ,I have found my family members right back to 1500s but my Dear wife could not get passed the first hurdle, With the information we are now getting hopefully we can march on ( or in our cases march back) Thank you again Philip & Janet Palmer Apache Junction Arizona USA. |

HI Philip The FREEBMD site is not complete, there are hundreds/thousands of people all over the world transcribing the registers as volunteers. There is a site 1837online - a pay per view site, which is the scanned page of every birth, marriage or death registered. Good luck with your search. Michele |

We think we have been barking up the wrong tree with the marriage of Samuel Mccalpin and Jennie Martin, They were Married about 1912ish Could be Derby I have tried the Freebmd web site but it only went up to 1903 for some reason? Jennie Martin was born in Aston Birmingham 1889, Samul not sure where he was born Could be cheshire or Possibly Scotland, He inlisted in the army at 18 in 1899 so he probably was not born in the 1881 census, How do you check census records (if any) for the armed forces? My wifes father John mccalpin and his elder sister annie were born (we think in derby, Annie about 1912/13 John 1914, Hope this is not too confusing but we need some help on this one, good luck in all your searches Philip Palmer. |
