Judy, I really have no idea if she ever went to the states let alone which state she would live in! which is why we thought that there may be some kind of imigration records to check first. Crista, Joan has copied her reply to me. Do you think it would be worth a try? Terry's mother could have re-married another Thompson... I know of similar situations happening over here with common names like Green and Smith. Thanks for the help. Cheers Carla |

Carla, I remember she married Terry Thompson now. Was his father's name John F Thompson? You should have this on the marriage cert. If so, I might have found them. Crista |

A search for living person in the United States can be done at www(.)ussearch(.)com. You have to do the name search by state, so if you have an idea as to what state they may have gone to, that helps. An estimated age helps as well. The initial search is free, with them giving you town the person lives in. For a small fee, they will provide further information. I have found that there is a way around paying the fee though, if the person you are looking for has a publicly listed phone number. I'm not sure how it works in the UK, but in the states, one can choose or not to have their name, address and phone number listed in the telephone book. If they have a listed phone number, taking the limited, free information obtained from USsearch, enter the information to an online telephone directory....one like www(.)anywho(.)com. The address and phone number would then be free to you. If person you are looking for has an unpublished phone number, it may be worth your while to pay the $10.00 dollars or so to get the information....sorry, I don't know what that converts to in Euro $. Crista, Well I still can't find my missing marine. Doing it the proper way means that I will have to wait months for the US Government to find him for me, still waiting for the paperwork to arrive. I am trying to locate my Mother (Desiree Joy Whyte) who we know married a Marine. Joan can find no trace of either of them over here in the UK so we are assuming they have gone to the US. The marriage took place in January 1970 and there is no trace of them registered at the address on the marriage cert. hence the assumption of a 1970 move. Any suggestions? If we know she moved at least we will know where to search. |

Carla, What details do you have? It all depends on what year you're talking about. Crista |
