I dont know what else to do I am open to any suggestions! I am looking for Henry Bartlett age according to his marriage cert is b 1833 on the 1851 census. BARTLETT James 53 Shoemaker Gloucester Gt. Georges Eliza 53 Yatton, Som. Mary 29 Dressmaker Yatton, Som. John 26 Shoemaker Clifton William 23 Shoemaker Wrington, Som. Henry 17 Shoemaker Wrington, Som. FRY Armanda Apprentice 16 Dressmaker Burrington, Som. EARTHROWL ??? Henry Apprentice 18 Shoemaker Plymouth Devon WINTER Mary Lodger married 30 Seamstress Norfolk Aindolvestone

I know this is my Henry as his father is James Callaway Bartlett his brother William named his son Albion Callaway Bartlett. Problem is I cannot find Henry on any censuses after 1851 he married 1859 Bristol lived Redcliffe Hill daughter was born in Bristol in 1868 Lived Picton street Bristol so obviously wasnt dead but his daughter did live from 1881 onwards with an "aunt" Sarah Ann Brown I cant find a record of death on free BMD for him or for his wife can anybody help solve this puzzle? Hiya Leigh I dont think so Henry was from Wrington. The second one looks most promising I wonder if he changed to James his fathers name? Just a thought with you saying about changing Henry to Harry hang on ill have a look Jan x

nope looked at all Bartletts in 1881 none from wrington which looks like him what can I do next??? any ideas anyone?

Hi Crista sorry for late reply just got in from work.Henry Bartletts wifes name was Elizabeth nee Foster b1837 their marriage date was March 26th 1859 at Parish Church of St Philip and Jacob address is Redcliffe Hill Bristol. Their daughter was born 10th Dec 1868 Elizabeth Mary Rachel Bartlett Their address was Picton street. On the 1881 census elizabeth is living with an "aunt" (I cant find anywhere this is her true Aunt) Sarah Ann Brown I know this is also my EMR as she stays with Elizabeth and her son (my great grandfather) in the 1901 census. Henry and Elizabeth dissapear Hope you or someone can help give me any ideas. Jan x

Hi Janet, Do you have Elizabeth MR's marriage certificate to Joseph Pocock? If Henry were dead it should say deceased. Will keep looking. Crista

Hi Crista yes I have EMR'S marrige cert to Joe Pocock yes it does say deceased Henry Bartlett, Shoemaker, deceased.Henry's family were all shoemakers all the rest of the Bartlrtt brothers and sisters live together even when married! except Henry of course!! ggggrrrrr.

Hi Crista This has appeared before I will look into it though. It seems odd someone would leave their children with someone else but then call another daughter by the same name around the same time,but with this family ANYTHING is possible.Thank you so much for trying to help I really appreciate it maybe Henry Bartlett will always be a mystery!!
