Jackie, just looked in my AA Atlas and there is a Gunthorpe in North Lincolnshire, near Gainsborough. Could this be the right one because it is not that far from Hull? Maggy |

Hello Jackie, Yes there certainly is a Gunthorpe in Notts............my daughter is in Gunthorpe tonight with her boyfriend! We live about 14 miles from there but I am not sure where to access the recors you want. I am going into Nottingham next week so can have a look in the local library or LDS if you think it may help. Let me know by e-mail................................Pam |

Trouble is Rebecca, there is absolutely nothing on IGI. He lived his married life in Hull and was a blacksmith, as was his father, according to his marriage certificate. I know he was widowed in 1838 but before this I have nothing. Someone did a lookup for me for 1851 census and it said Gunthorpe. Presumed it was Norfolk. How far from Peterboro' is Hull? would the family have migrated this distance in 180.....? Jackie |

I am still looking for a record of the birth of my 5x ggrandfather Henry Barrett b Gunthorpe around 1806, father John. There is nothing in the Norfolk Gunthorpe parish records that relate to him. Does anyone lhave access to the Gunthorp Notts parish records or visiting in the near future, just to put my mind at rest? Many thanks Jackie |
