I want to trace my birth family name but my dad isn't very helpful, as he hasn't seen not had contact with his dad for over 33 years. Grandfather To Yick married Teresa McCardle and had daughter Teresa and son Edward (my dad). I understand Yick is a common chinese name, although my dad is known as Toyick. Trying to find records but don't know where to start. Believe both grandmother and grandfather were married in UK, not sure where though. Grandfather born in China but that is about it. Anyone any advice and to let me know what public records (such as births, deaths and marriages) you can access online? Thanks

Janet

From the menu on the left, go to Resource Centre and then to Links, and you will see the sites you can access on line. However, I just went to FreeBMD and searched for Toyick and Yick, and no births, marriages or deaths records came up for either of those names. Jan.
