Hi John Fairy was born in Upwood Hunts in 1850. He moved to B'ham and on 14 October 1868 he entered the Army as a Private with the 3rd Dragoon Guards. I have the following info. that his name is in the Muster Book of 1868/69 WO 12/231. 1. Where would this information come from? National Archives? 2. Would there be any additional information available and if so from where? 3. John married in 1875 and would presumably have resigned or retired from the Army would there have been discharge papers or any record of his service? I would be very grateful if anyone could answer any of these questions OR better still could verify this info and perhaps add to it by doing a look up. Thanks Marlene |
