Hi all I have never quite understood the 1901 decoder (call me thick!). From reading some of the threads on here I believe it may sort people into families. If it does, could some kind person sort this lot out for me please. Dinah Reeveley 43 born Flixton Alfred Reeveley 43 born Brompton Tom Reeveley 27 born Staxton Esther Reevely 22 born Staxton Albert Reeveley 20 born Staxton Robert Reeveley 18 born Staxton Florence Reeveley 13 born Staxton Hilda Reeveley 12 born Staxton Harold Reeveley 10 born Staxton Ada Reeveley 9 born Staxton Walter Reeveley 3 born Staxton Edith Reeveley 1 born Staxton All of them were living in the Admin county of East Riding of Yorkshire, Parish of Willerby. Thanks Jeanette |

when you get the names up on the decoder and process the names. Click on show results and then group by persons id and it will sort the names in order. The ones grouped together are likely to be in the same house hold. |

Hi Jeanette! Once you've clicked the Process Search button on the decoder, you can then look at the results. Now click the Group By button and select group by person. This then orders them into family households and puts coloured boxes around each one. Also look at the Person ID. You may have the following, eg: 000001 000002 000003 000004 These would all be living in the same household but say the next one is the following: 123456 then clearly this member doesn't belong to the same household. Does that make it any clearer for you? Andy. |

Hi Jeanette, I've researched the page you want using the 1901 decoder and I've saved it as an Excel file I hope you have Excel! Can you email me, then I can send it back to you as an attachment and then you'll see who's in which family. If it helps I'll try and put some easy instructions together for 1901 too. Sioux |

There were actually 14 Reeveleys in Willerby (search "last name Reeveley", "Place Willerby") If you "Process search" to get them into the decoder then "Group by person IDs" you get 3 family groups and 2 odd persons. |
