Barry and Sally, Thanks for info. Ummmmm.... Neither really fits the bill, because at least in the 1881 census (which is definately him) as an adult he states his birthplace as Worcester, Worcstershire. So unless his parents were generalising I can't see why it would change? Problem is these George Evans' are as common as muck! Anyone got 1841 census data when he would have been c. 1-2 years old and likely still in Worcester environs. (The family definately made the move to the big smoke Brum in the late 1860's). He was possibly in Ludlow, Shropshire in 1861 with his wife Sarah who came from there. No children at that stage. Thanks, Barry |

Hi I have found a George Evans born Kings Norton Worcs. living with parents in Birmingham on 1851 census he is on there being 10years old which would make that about 1839 all depends on when census was taken. If you want me to give any more info on him. Please email me direct. Sally. |

Barry, thx for the rapid reply. The 1881 census has him as aged 42 so, even though LDS's site calculates (I think) his year of birth as 1839, I guess it could theoretically lie between 4 april 1838 and 3 april 1839. I have also never seen reference to a middle name, so I deduce it's the first one? However, Upton-upon-Severn is a small village closer to Malvern or Tewkesbury, so would he still have given his birth place as Worcester? I guess if its on his birth certificate and because U-u-S was/is(?) still adminstered by Worcester? Anyone got 1841 and/or 1851 Worcester census so I can really nail it? Thanks VERY much again.
