1861/71 census for Co. Durham or N. Yorks please

Hi, Lorna very nicely looked up the following family on 91 census for in Darlington. 1891 England Census 10 Silver Street Darlington Taylor, Walter 46 Tadcaster, Yorkshire Head Darlington Durham Blacksmith Taylor, Margaret 45 Darlington, Durham Wife Darlington Durham Taylor, William 21 Darlington, Durham Son Darlington Durham Boiler Plater Taylor, Edward 16 Darlington, Durham Son Darlington Durham Taylor, Jane 9 Darlington, Durham Daughter Darlington Durham Taylor, Walter 7 Darlington, Durham Son Darlington Durham The birth place of Walter differs between the two. So can some kind person do a lookup on 61/71 census please in the two areas? thankyou Debbie

Hi Deborah, Have you tried Durham Records Online? Free to search, pay per view. If you find them on either census, can then give you a full transcript as I have both census fo Durham, but they are not name indexed, so would need a fairly acurate fix on them. From your info, seems likely they'd be somewhere in Darlington. Debbie

Hi Debbie I've checked 10 Silver Street on the 1871 census and there is a couple with the surname DAVY living there - not your Taylors unfortunatley. Like Debbie said they aren't name indexed so you would have to 'walk' the whole of Darlington to find them Kay

Interestlingly, they don't seem to appear on the 1861 or 1871 census in Durham. Just checked Durham Records Online. Debbie
