An ancestor named Henry or Aaron Dent (he used both interchangably) was born in Crossmaglen Ireland in approx 1853, probably whilst his father was stationed there. I understand that there is no civil registration at this time in Ireland, and his birth is not registered in the army or chaplains returns. Can anyone help with an extract from the baptism register for Crossmaglen, or suggest where I should write? Thanks, Tracy |

Tracy, If you go onto Tips Board, Theresa from Cork has a good thread where there is a lot of info for researching Ireland. I have nudged it up for you so it should be nearer the top now. Good luck. Margaret |
