on the 1901 census, the surname could be mis-spelt. Have you tried just searching the name Frederick , then age and place born? Or do the same with his parents, missing out the surname completely. I've found 5 relatives like this, because their surnames are entered incorrectly! Steph |

I'm trying to track down Fred (erick) Howes. I think I've found him on the AV list for Leeds, but he is nowhere to be seen on the 1901 census. He was born between 1891 and 1899. Mother Mary Ann Needham, Father Henry Edmund Howes. They married Blackpool 6 Jan 1892. Henry Edmund Howes was a commercial traveller and boy, did he travel - three wives, at least 10 children (all born in different places). Most of children seem to end up in Leeds (usually Hunslet). Does anyone have any brainwaves as to where else to look please? Jools |
