Please could someone have a look on 1871 census (or anywhere else you can think of)... I am trying to find my great grandfather Frederick George BERRETT. He should be living in Deptford, Kent, with his parents James and Ann Berrett and several siblings. I've found him on the 1881 - but by then he'd already left home and I need to locate him with his family! Many thanks! Linda

Linda, I know that there is an 1851 surname index to deptford produced by the north west kent family history society. On fiche, I think it was 4 quid + postage. They may do paid research if you are that desperate. Pauline

Susanne - many thanks for trying! He just doesn't seem to exist prior to his marriage... Pauline - I'm afraid the 1851 is no good... he wasn't born until 1863-ish!
