Please can any one advise me on how to go about tracking down Births, Marriages and Divorces in the 1940's. My Grandmother before she dies destroyed all the family records that we belive would relate to her divorce. The suject was never talked openly about but my Mother feels that she may have a full brother who went with his father after the Divorce dated between 1944 & 1948. She may have other family or half siblings aswell. If any body can help me with advice I would be grateful. The only information I have is names of Grandmother and Grandfather and the area that the where living at the time.
