Most of the marriage certificates which I have got so far are the orginal ones given out at the time, which have the orginal signatures on them, and have been handed down through the family. When obtaining copies from elsewhere, I expect it depends upon whether they have used a transcipt or photocopied/scanned the orginal. Denise. |

Hi i was just wondering about BMD Certs as i obtained a marriage cert for my Grt Grandparents 1912 and both of them had signed their names at the bottom when normaly the person who filled in the cert does all the writting. Does anyone else have a Marriage cert like this all my others are written in the same hand. I thourght this was great seeing my Grt Grandparents own writting even though Grt Batty Nannas age is out by 3 yrs she was in her 98th year when she died 1979 she really didnt know how old she was. Ken Milton is trying to find her for me on the St Caths i have had no luck on the 1837 online Jane Cook (E ) was her name birth well take your pick 1882 or 1887 Liverpool. Colette. |
