Judy, Thanks, how do I go about ordering a certificate? Also is there anyway to check its the right one prior to ordering? Jean

FYI - Death Certificates do include father and mother's maiden name. There are two types of death certificates if you're ordering, and usually not advised of that fact at time you are ordering. There is a short form, which does not include parent information and the long form, which does include the information. Ask for the long form.....JI learned that one after purchasing several that did not include parental information when I knew for a fact that the information was included. I reordered and got the information I was after. Judy :)

Hi Danette, Thanks for your offer of help in Boston. Do you know if death certificates would give the name of parents or husband/wife? I have a great uncle and aunt who (I think) died after 1960, they lived in Boston from about 1928. In case your able to check, the names are Cecil and Violet Cox. Thanks a lot Jean

Hi Danette: I would also like to welcome you. My ancestors settled in Ontario, Canada but I don't know which ports they used (Nova Scotia, Boston, Montreal, etc). Do you have any suggestions where I might look? I am trying to find time to go to the LDS Centre -- perhaps that would be a place to start? Thanks for any suggestions you might have and WELCOME TO THE SITE!

Hi Danette Welcome aboard! Hope you get as much pleasure from this site as I do. Everyone is very friendly and helpful and it looks like you are going to become one of the helpful ones too. I don't need any help with anything from your area but it is good to have a link to as many areas as possible. Never sure where your family tree is going to take you. Good luck with your hunting. I am a new member in Gloucester, Massachusetts, USA, a small city about 45" Northeast of Boston, MA. Anyone looking for info on relatives who emigrated here? I will try to help anywhere in Boston area. Know much about immigration here from UK, Germany, Finland, Russia, Ireland, Italy. Very good records kept here.
