Two George Potters

The IGI has records of 2 George Potters both born in Roydon, Norfolk in 1819 - 1 married Elizabeth Bale and eventually emigrated to America - the other married Eliza also probably Bale - both had children named Eliza & Clark - the second is my husband's GGGrandfather. Have followed the wrong family once - anyone with any info to get me back on track?

Eliza was sometimes used as a short name for Elizabeth, and as the children have the same names perhaps you could take the first entry. In my experience you cannot always trust the IGI, I found my GGgrandfather was supposed to have emigrated to America and fathered children over there, but I know for sure that someone has their lines crossed and that he never left England, I'm proof of that! Thanks Marion Did follow the first line and all are on the census in America while my George is on the 1881 census for Burston, Norfolk. Spent ages tracing wrong family!
