Hi my name is Helen I'm trying to find out about Russel Sq,if there were any Foundling Homes,or Orphanages ect,in this area round about 1946-47 I am trying to trace my Brother who was put up for Adoption would be very grateful for kind of news many thanks Helen

Hi there Helen, I lived in the area from 1954 - 1965. If you type Thomas Coram Foundation into Google, you should get quite a bit of information. There is still a park, just down the road from Russell Square, known as Coram's Fields, or locally as The Foundling. Played there often as a child! All the best Dierdre X
