get1901 data or 1901 census decoder

Does anyone uses the get1901data for the 1901 census. Have you noticed that when you try to find families they keep changing the numbers at the side (head count and house count). If the name you are looking for is too large to collect the data all at once you have to brake it down i.e male and female. We can then sort and spilt into groups in the same house hold which will have the same house number at the side. Now when we do the search for males, and then when we search for females the numbers have changed so you don't get a match. Maybe they don't like us using this program, but surely if it means we find our families we are more likely to pay for a copy of the census page. Who wants to keep spending money when it may not be the family we are looking for. Its bad enough that they only have first names and don't take into account the second name which is the only other way we can be sure if its our family. When we first started to use the decoder we also have the folio numbers, they soon disappeared, then we could no longer go and look at the original. Sorry to go on but I had to get it off my chest. They could spend their time better correcting the transcription errors that have been reported instead of trying to make more money out of us. I reported a transcription error ages ago and it has still not been corrected. They didn't even acknowledge that I reported it.

Nina Try sending the message again, it worth a try anyway. Perhaps if we were to email them saying that we don't wish to waste our money getting census pages if they are not ours. I did mention about the 2nd name helping identify our relatives but the email back just said noted. So it looks like there are no plans to change this. Which is a same as its a good site. Irene
