i have no birth certificates of my late parents...i am trying to find the christian names of my late grandfather on my dads side but i dont know where to look |

Diane... if you know the when and where your parents were born yuo should be able to apply for copies of their birth certificates, which will give ther parents names, and you can then work backwards from there |

If you don't know their birth dates you can obtain death certificates which sometimes tell you their birth dates. Also marriage certificates show fathers names and occupation. Check out the freebmd website(not complete) or 1837online(you have to pay). Best information always comes from certificates or parish information. All the best Angela Born |

Hi Diane When did your parents die? As on ancestry they have the civil registration death index from 1984-2002, most of these also show the date of birth. If you leave details of their names and your grandparents names(if you know them) and the area they came from maybe somebody on here may be able to find something for you. Regards Sharon |
