I am well and truly stuck on trying to find a marriage of a John Wing to a Mary Elizabeth. I have no idea of her maiden name and this is what I am in desperate need to find -they had no natural children. John was born in Battersea in 1888 but lived in Carshalton, Surrey from 1916. Directoreis in Sutton Record Centre have been kindly searched for me (thank you Shelli!) but difficult to get a date of her appearance as she was not listed in Piles- only John named. I have spent a fortune on going through all the John Wing marriages on 1837online -no luck. Can anyone help? P-l-e-a-s-e!!! Jackie PS Mary Elizabeth died around 1948-1954ish. |

Oh yeah, Jackie!! LOL. I think I need to do Maths all over again. Sorry I can't be much help. They could have maried after 1900 etc..... maybe they didn't marry.... syuch a scandal in those days though. My great-great-grandmother over in Ireland, never married, and had 5 children in the same place. Mum likes to think that she had a "common-law" marriage, yeah right Mum.... she was the town bicycle!
