Brian You can search the indexes of the 1901 census yourself for free on http://www(.)census(.)pro(.)gov(.)uk/ It is a pay site if you want to view the images. We used to be able to use a decoder that grouped families together, but that isn't working properly at the moment. You will need to buy a voucher or use a credit card (minimum £5) to be able to view the images. Other than that, have you looked for the birth cetificate? Try http://freebmd(.)rootsweb(.)com/ that isn't complete so then try http://www(.)1837online(.)com/Trace2web/ This also is a pay per view site. Both of these sites will give you the codes that will enable you to order the birth certificate. Don't forget to remove the brackets on the web addresses. Margaret
