Find Ancestors

Hi, Please could anyone help me find any records of my Grandmother, Annie Elizabeth Ellis. She was born c.1879-1882 in Norfolk, possibly North Walsham. Her father's name was James Ellis. I can find no record of her on the 1881 or 1901 Census. Would be most grateful for any help at all. Thanks Vivien

theres a James ellis 51 widower living north walsham family are James Ellis 51 widow hawker born Felmingham James son 22 general labourer Edward son 18 general labourer Mary Ann daughter 13 children born North Walsham living North Walsham

Thanks everso much Jill. I am going on what my Dad told me. She died in 1924, so his facts may not be correct. I have her marriage cert and her death cert, but can't find any trace of her birth. Thanks again. Vivien

Vivien happy to help if i can just seems strange you cant find her on any census. I will keep looking if i find anything else will get back to you. where did she get married? do you know if she had brothers/sisters? Jill The other thing im thinking is could she have been called Hannah my gt gt nan changed her name so much from Ann to Annie and Hannah, even got her as Betsey on her sons birth certificate.

Hi, Marriage cert: June 1907, Annie Elizabeth Ellis 28 to Wilfred Rigg 29.Married at Dewsbury Register office. Her address, New Leeds, Leeds, working as a house-maid. His, Earlsheaton, Soothill. Her father James (deceased). Death cert: May 1924, Mirfield, age 45. On the 1901 census I found an Annie Ellis 21, at a house in Kexborough, occupation housemaid and born Spa Common,Norfolk. I have applied several times for this persons birth cert but it's always been returned as unknown. Thanks, Vivien
