I cant really class myself as blond either - I'm a redhead - luckily for everyone standing round me at the FRC my redhead temper didnt come out :-) Such a strange/brill/funny enviroment though, loads of people grabbing at books - it reminded me in a way of the xmas sales! I think its brill though the FRC is free to go in and to use. I spent all day there and came away with loads of index numbers, so the credit card will be getting a beating over the next few months!

Karen, I did a similar thing with my first lot of credits on 1837............used up nearly £5 looking at 1871 not 1861! Not even got the excuse of being blonde...................now grey with blonde bits left, Pam

Hiya Just had to share with you all my FRC experience today. I was all prepared with a list a mile long for indexs for look at. Got there nice and early and started looking straight away at births for c1855 onwards, anyway 5 years on (and an hour later) I still hadnt found any entries that I had been looking for and was beginning to think my ancestors were probably looking down at me having a good old laugh, when I suddenly realised why I couldnt find them - I was looking in 1955! doh! Anyway, had quite a successful day, about feeling a prize wally, but know I'm feeling absolutely knackered. Sorry that I was able to offer to do any look ups for anyone, but I had so many of my own to do that I knew I wouldnt have time.
