pls any one know if there is a directory / information about work houses of the early 1900 in the Nottm area, trying to trace my grandmother Victoria Elsie Dawn.

There is a very good website for Southwell which has been opened to the public and is run now by the National Trust. Try google search.We need Robin here, our expert on Notts.........Where are you, Robin Hood? (You think I'm joking!!!) Jackie

All the main ones are on line for 1881. If you need other information it will be via the census for whatever date and area you are looking at. Census-Online(.)com
