Hi Helen If you wouldn't mind could you please look up Mary Duffey born 1865 Sheffield on the 1871 Census for me, I have her on the 1881 living at Rawmarsh as a servant and she got married in Rotherham in 1883 to my gt.gt. grandad. I would be very grateful for your help. Regards Viv Dawson

Hi, I am curious about a very elusive Rudolfus Capelli who was named as the father of my greatgrandfather's half-sister b. c.1878. FreeBMD has the death of a Gregirio Capelli in Sheffield in 1858 so I'm wondering if there was a family of that name in Sheffield in 1851 or 61. If that's not too difficult I would be grateful. Valerie.

Hi Helen: If it's not too late, may I ask for a lookup, please? My Mum's cousin found John Brownill; he was a pen blade grinder. His daughter was Julia Ann, born 23-Jan-1837. Supposedly they lived on Bailey Street, in Sheffield. John's wife was Julia. Would there be any additional information? If I may ask, would it be possible to check both 1841 and 1851, please? Thank you very much.

Thanks so very much Helen The first of the three sounds the most promising, but you never know do you? On Mary's marriage certificate I was unable to make out the father's name(it looks like Shaw or Stan) but it looks to me as if maybe her mother Mary Carroll with Duffy crossed out may have been a single parent who later married. Never mind, I like a good mystery and enjoy a little detective work. Anyway, thanks again for your time! Regards Viv

Can anyone who has contacted me after my 'results' bit please email me direct if possible. I can then print off your requests and reply direct by email after my next visit to Sheffield LDS (might be a few weeks) If you don't, I probably won't be able to find the thread again to give you the findings. Cheers!

Hi Helen: Thank you VERY much for looking for me; I'm also impressed with how quickly you did so! I've not researched this family at all, as my mum's cousin was trying to, but now with the information you found, I am quite interested in finding out more about them myself. Thank you for sparking the interest in my Brownell's. I wish you the best of luck with your searches. Lisa.
