It looks like he is "Carter Corn Mill", a carter in a corn mill. RG9 3404/25B. The Crowthers I have all seem to be from Heckmondwike, maybe originating from Batley. I have not found a Squire Crowther yet, but I have been stuck with my gggrandfather Thomas and his wife Harriet. I know that they were living at various parts of High Street from 1861 to 1904, the later address being 28 High Street. When I get past my brick wall, I may have more idea. Selina is a name which crops up twice in the 20 or so Crowthers that I do know of.

Hi there, If anyone can help, i'm looking for Betty Wilcock on the 1861 census for West Yorkshire. She'd be about 5/6 years old, born in Sowerby near Halifax. Her father was Henry Wilcock and her mother is yet unknown! Henry would be about 47 and born in the Todmorden/Erringden area. Any help much appreciated. Tracey x

Hi Sue, Yes i have that info but it seems the mother had died by then as Henry was a widower. They had a son Samuel (my great grandad) and i sent for his birth cert but i'm not sure if i've got the right one. It said father Henry and mother Fanny but i've yet to confirm her name. Tracey x
