I AM LOOKING FOR MY GRANDAD, MY DAD HAS BEEN SEARCHING FOR 40YRS AND IAM HOPEING ONE OF YOU COULD HELP, MY DAD WILL BE CELEBRATING HIS 60TH BIRTHDAY AND ME GETTING IN CONTACT WITHA MEMBER OF HIS FAMILY FROM HIS DADS SIDE WOULD BE A DREAM COME TRUE FOR HIM. MY GRANDADS NAME WAS JAMES COCKRAN WE ARE NOT DEFFINATE ON THE SPELLING, HE WOULD BE AGED AROUND 80YRS OLD AND IS FROM AMERICA, WE HAVE HAD LINKS WITH TEXAS,EUSTON AND HAWAII BUT AGAIN NONE ARE DEFFINATE. HE MET MY GRAN WHEN THEY WERE BOTHING BASED AT HAMEL HEMSTEAD, HE WAS A REARGUNNER SGT AND FLEW THE LANCASTER BOMBERS, MY GRANS NAME IS EDITH WESTWOOD. THANKYOU VERY MUCH FROM FROM SARAH WESTWOOD. |

Hi Sarah, I am sorry that I am not able to help you with this but I thought that I might suggest that the spelling is more likely to be COCHRANE. It's a pretty common name in Scotland. Good luck in your search. Regards Margaret |

I think there is an organisation which helps you to trace 'GI' fathers. Can't remember the name of it but heard programmes on the radio about it and success it had had for people like your Dad. Perhaps a Google search would find it. Good luck Anne |
