Help for Southern ireland birth certificate !

I'd like to know if i can get a certificate on line or do i have to send away for it and if so where ? What details would i have to give etc,the birth was in 1928 in tipperary. Thanks for any help maureen Walters

Maureen, just go to the website Linda mentioned and you can download an application form for a cert.when you send of for it they then send a reply to you with what they've found and if its the right one you then send the form back to them and then you get your cert - does that make sense? Karen
