hello, I would really appreciate it if someone could help me find a death. I am looking for the death of Archibold Gorbold, between 1881 and 1891. I can't find him on ancestry or freebmd. Can someone check on 1837 ? thank you Lucia

FreeBMD is reasonably complete (about 90%) on most of those years except for 1886-88 (about 35%). Ancestry uses the same data so will not be any different.

Hi, thanks for that, I wasn't sure how complete ancestry or Freebmd are. Now I know that I will be able to find his death elsewhere. Lucia

Hi Marie-Anne, Freebmd only goes up to the 1900's. Lucia

FreeBMD has now been allowed to record data upto 1984 - so the more transcribers, the better. They are trying to complete up to 1910 before moving on. Before this, they were limited to 100 years ago. Nes

Dear Lucia, I have searched those years for you on 1837 and one year either side of the time frame but no Archibald and not many Gorbolds. Sorry! Good luck with your search.
