It's ok. Thanks for the thanks!! I tried looking for your Thomas/John Payne in 1881 but had no luck. Not with the details you have given. It might be best to find the birth certificate. As you have the date, try 1837online as there doesn't seem to be anything on freeBMD. Good luck! Chloe
