Hi Margaret, I am in the same situation. Trying to locate someone in Canada who may be my first cousin but her e-mail address is now invalid. She posted a message on rootsweb.com in year 2000. However, I have found a fourth cousin and that was with the help of Canadian members on this site and believe it or not I found her on a Coronation Street Fan Club Web Site.If you e-mail me with your e-mail address I will send you any websites I find. try this, www . zades.com.au/linksot2.htm#Canada, (put altogether - trying to make it stay without it messing up),...... also try www. google. ca ((always 'ca') for canada)), then highlight canadian sites (only) and put in your query and you get only Canadian sites, hope this helps! Hi Margaret: Do you have a particular part of Canada you are interested in? I don't know how to search for living people; but, I do have quite a few websites for Ontario. Here are some suggestions for Canada: National Archives of Canada: http://www.archives.ca/02/0201_e.html Telephone Directory for Canada: http://www.canada411.ca This site (have to pay for records you are interested in) has passenger records, marriage records, census for all of Canada, etc: http://www.ingeneas(.)com/ingeneas/index.html I will continue to look for sites and post them here. I'm sure others will be able to provide more/better sites than I have. Please email me if you are interested in Ontario; I have quite a few suggestions. Good luck! Canada's Digital Colletions: http://collections.ic.gc.ca/E/alphabet.asp The Olive Tree Genealogy (Births, Deaths, Marriages Exchange): http://olivetreegenealogy(.)com/can/bdm/index.shtml Cyndi's List, Canada (fantastic site): http://www.cyndislist(.)com/canada.htm Haven't used this one before: Canadian Archival Resources on the Internet: http://www.usask.ca/archives/menu.html |

Can anyone please advise me on how I would go about searching for living people in Canada and also how to search BMD's? Do they have electoral rolls in Canada available to the public? Your help would be much appreciated. Regards Margaret |
