If only I could find their marriage though then i could check fathers names

Kim It did not become law for the parents to record births until 1875, before that it was up to the register to go round and record any new births. If they were away or unavailable when he/she came round the birth was not recorded. Also misspellings and general mis-filing often happened, then you get the snail mail, often many years out although the date on the certificate would be right. Irene

i'M SO frustrated with this one . I can't find her entry on freebmd or 1837 online . The Mary ann's I can find on 1837 the district is unreadable or not correct....... ahhh. Can't find her marriage either.. :( have emailed 1837 3 times and they don't bother replying . KIM

Kim Yes it does, just looked on Freebmd and found Edwards birth 1843 Hartley Wintney if you click on HW it will come up with the parishes under HW. Irene

HAS ANYONE any idea what registration district elvetham comes under.. KIM would it be hartley Witney?

Thankyou very much irene will print off andcheck names, can't find her birth or marriage on 1837 so thought her d.o.b re 1881 census could be diffrent. She is definitely Mary ann as one name though my grandmother remembers her. Many thanks KIM

Kim Looks like I have found her in Elvetham there could be 2 or 3 families, they don't give relationships only age and where born, the number is the batch or page number which groups them together, but that isn't 100% family you will need to look at the original to see if they are living together. But I do hope this helps. I am looking for a early census entry for a Mary Ann Harwood BORN 1843/4 approx in Elvetham . Hants could be living in Frimley surrey but may be in farnborough. many thanks KIM.
