Hello Paul, I've had a look on the 1851 Cenus for Devon and the only Pillifant If found was a Matthew Pillifant aged 63 and born at Petrockstow, Devon. His wife is down as S.P. Pillifant aged 62 born at Hatherleigh, Devon. There grand daughter Susan P. Knowles aged 5 was living with them at 28 Conduit Street, Oakhampton. Ref: HO.107/1885 Folio 158 Page 41. I am trying to find the parents siblings of a William Pellifant (the name may be spelt differently) born in 1837 in Somerton, Devon. He was married to a Jessie Eliza and children in 1881 in Topsham, Devon and working as a builders carter. I have tried looking through records on Ancestry and Familysearch, but cant seem to find his family. There are lots of Williams and Pillifants spelt in various ways but no one who seems to be his parents. Most of the Pillifant records are in Hatherleigh, Petrockstow and some in Someret. If anyone can give any help at all, I would be very grateful. Many thanks, Paul C
