I had that problem when I wanted a birth certificate, so I've written asking for a birth cert for either his brother or sister. Maybe you could do that?

Hi his name was William Poole his fathers name was George according to his marraige cert. he was born in 1847 in Haverhill suffolk. The only problem is the 1881 census makes him older by 10 years I am not sure what to think. I would hardly think he said he was 24 when he married and he was really 34, I can't find him on any census except the 1881, when he was then living in Edmonton North London thankyou Margaret

Margaret, Is the 1847 date you have from the marriage certificate or the 1881 census? Also what was his wife's name? and children's if any? I'll have another go at finding him on the 1891 census. Emma.

Hi Emma, the 1847 date is from his marriage cert. His wifes name was Emma, his children Emma Kate George and Albert. I have got his wife on the 1891 census she was a widow then and there starts another problem I can't even find a death cert for him Thank you Margaret.

Hi I would like to think it is him, If it is, it means when he married in 1871 he was 40 and not 24 like his marriage cert states and there again in the 1881 census it says he was 44 so there again it does not match I dont know what to believe. I have traced her family right back when I found her and her family in the 1871 census I thought he would be living near by but no such luck thank you Margaret.
