Hi Janette, I am sure that Sue is right. I have been researching my family in Devon around the Topsham area, and I was informed by someone that it was the St Thomas area. Paul C

Jan Are you sure it's Cornwall? There is a registration district of Exeter, Devon called St Thomas. Sue Sorry - just read his birth year - too early for civil registration. I think there was/is a district of Exeter called St Thomas though.
