I ordered 2 online from GRO two weekends ago and estimated a delivery by last weekend - they seem to post on Fridays. It arrived on Monday this week, very screwed up due to the large envelopes which they use. I'm happy to wait if it arrives safely, but it means I have to iron it flat now! |

I ordered 2 certificates last week, I was expecting them in the post today, bit they didn't arrive. After reading all your messages I was obviously being optimistic, perhaps I should brace myself for a wait of another week. I hope not though as I can't go any further without the certs. Sue |

I always order certificates from the relevant register office. I've been waiting 4 or 5 days for the latest two to arrive, and that's the longest I've ever had to wait. Usually they're back within 2-3 days. |

Waiting 2 weeks! What are you worrying about? I used to order my certificates through the Local Family History Society. It cost far more and could take anything up to six weeks to arrive. Any person wanting Lancashire certificates should link onto Lancashire BMD and try to find their certificate there. A printable form can be found with all their references ready printed on it. Just complete it and send it off with a cheque for £7 and a stamped addressed envelope and the certificate arrives within two days. Rosemary(Chelmsford) |

Try ordering your certs from Research UK. I usually get my certs within a week and they are very reasonable and helpful. Linda |

They seem to be taking around 2 weeks at the moment. There's a message about delays both on their website and the "comfort" message on their phone lines. It's supposed to be due to 1837online bumping up the demand. I've certainly been contributing to it myself !!! Rick. |
