Tracy-I have emailed you direct Marie-Anne- Thankyou for your help. I have checked through my notes and can account for all the details you gave me on John except for the death in 1842, i think that may well be for the John b1806 i am trying to trace, so i will now try and order that certificate in hope, the other Johns are his son, grandson and great grandson. As for the girls names i am less sure of those, so will be very happily digging through them for the next few hours! Many thanks Yvette

Hi Marie-Anne For some time now i have been trying to track down the Elliff surname in Croydon (and surrounding parts of Surrey). I have census details of some of the family from 1881 onwards, but would like census details up to 1871 if possible. Also, a search of parish registers would be much appreciated as i am trying to find out if there is a link to the man i think (hope!) is the father of John Elliff b 1806. John married a Sarah Adams in 1841 and from what i can find to date they had 6 children, but i have only been able to track 4 of them from the time they married. I have searched the FreeBMD and 1837 as much as i can but i havent had much luck. I have had some help from GC members on this family, which is how i tracked down three of John and Sarahs children, but i really need to find out about John, and Sarah, now. I would be grateful for any help at all. Regards Yvette

Does anyone have access to the Croydon Records Office and would they be able to do some lookups? I would be very grateful if so. Yvette
