Find Ancestors

Hi Do you think a lot of people did not fill the census in because I have looked till I am blue in face for a William Poole father George don't know his mothers name although I have found him on the 1881 census this was after he was married. I would like to find him on the 1871 census they lived in Haverhill Suffolk thank you Margaret

I know how you feel Margaret, half of my family dont seem to exist on the census either

Try mine.. they don't seem to exist in 3 Census !

Had a quick look in my VRI This is the only one with Haverhill POOLE, George Marriage Wife: Maria BRANSON Marriage Date: 5 Nov 1830 Recorded in: Haverhill, Suffolk, England Collection: BTs Source: FHL Film 989586 Dates: 1687 - 1837

Then this.. POOLE, William Christening Gender: Male Birth Date: 17 Aug 1831 Christening Date: 25 Dec 1831 Recorded in: Haverhill, Suffolk, England Collection: BTs Father: George POOLE Mother: Maria Source: FHL Film 989588 Dates: 1831 - 1832

Hi Margaret, Did William have a middle name? I only ask because people often seemed to be known by their middle names back then, unless they were like my grandmother whose name was Jane Ellen but was listed in 1901 as Dorothy!! Rebecca

Hi to you all, thank you very much for the information, I have had this information before but dismissed because I thought he was to old, because on his marriage cert in 1871 he said he was 24, Do you really think he could have been 16 years older than he said. Thank you again Margaret
