Hello Ann, Dont know if this is of help. There was an Upholsterer called William D. Smith living at 71 High Street, Stockton on the 1861 Census. However, living at 54 High Street, Stockton - The George Inn were the following: RG9/3692 Folio 64 Page 2 Schedule No. 6 54 High Street – George Inn William Moses, Head, 45, Inn Keeper, Born Piercebridge John Watson, Father-in-Law, 76, Currier, born Heighington Ellen Moses, Neice, 21, Assistant Housekeeper, born Sedgefield Would love to hear if this is the correct one. I have found two losts of High Street, but the first one only went up to 29. This second one seems a bit more promising.
