It can be long winded, but yes there is a way.......and if there is a quicker way please don't tell me anyone!!!!! It involves looking through the BMD indexes and hope that his name isn't too common. If you know who your father's brother is then you can look for a marriage for him, not only will it give you the index number but will give the maiden name of the partner. You can check the maiden name and find the matching index you then have the marriage partners full name. If you then check the birth indexes for births after the marriage date. Both the Child's surname and mothers maiden name are given with the index, by matching both surname and maiden name you should be able to get the names of the children. Dependant how long ago they were born you may have to repeat the process. Especially if the children are female, they may well have married and changed their name yet again. Once you have finally got a list of possibles you can check for them on the electoral list which will give addresses. I wish you the best of luck.....especially with my explanation! But it does work.....I managed to contact many of my living relatives, and so gained much information, but equally remember that some may also not want to be contacted.
