Any ideas on narrowing down a date of death?

I'm trying to search for my ggrandfater James Edward Pritchard. I cant find a record of his marriage. All i kmow he was alive in 1916 and was deceased by thetime my nan got married in 1942. Any ideas on closing the gap?

Hi One way to narrow it down would be to search and see if there were any more children born. The birth indexes after about 1914 show the mothers maiden name so you would know you have the right family. That is the only thing i can think of apart from asking relatives if they can remember or seeing if they have any old photo's that he might appear in (i.e Wedding photo's when they would probably have an idea of when they were taken) Sorry if i havent been much help.
