James Groves, 56 , Gardener Domestic Servant Emma, 36 Maude, 10 Ernest, 9 Beatrice, 6 Sidney, 3 All born in Pembury except Emma, born Norwich Living at Church School House, Maidstone Road, Pembury Rural Sanitary District - Tonbridge !! Hope these are the ones. Maggy |

Hello Nicola, I have found this family on the 1891 census: father James Groves age 56 a Yardman domestic servant, born Pembury Tonbridge. mother Emma age 36 born Norwich, Norfolk Maude age 10 born Pembury. Ernest age 9 born Pembury. Beatrice age 6 born Pembury. Sidney age 5 born Pembury. the address they where living at was 133 Maidstone Road, Church School House, Pembury Tonbridge. In the parish of St Peters. hope this helps Eileen in Portsmouth |

There is an Ernest Groves the right age born in Pembury, Kent which is not far from Tonbridge, could he be the right one? Maggy |

Looking for and Ernest Groves on the 1891 census if possible. Born Tonbridge in sept 1882. Any info appreciated. He appears to be a bit of a Houdini. Can't find him on the 1901 census. Thanks in advance. Nicola |
