James Groves, 56 , Gardener Domestic Servant Emma, 36 Maude, 10 Ernest, 9 Beatrice, 6 Sidney, 3 All born in Pembury except Emma, born Norwich Living at Church School House, Maidstone Road, Pembury Rural Sanitary District - Tonbridge !! Hope these are the ones. Maggy

Hello Nicola, I have found this family on the 1891 census: father James Groves age 56 a Yardman domestic servant, born Pembury Tonbridge. mother Emma age 36 born Norwich, Norfolk Maude age 10 born Pembury. Ernest age 9 born Pembury. Beatrice age 6 born Pembury. Sidney age 5 born Pembury. the address they where living at was 133 Maidstone Road, Church School House, Pembury Tonbridge. In the parish of St Peters. hope this helps Eileen in Portsmouth

There is an Ernest Groves the right age born in Pembury, Kent which is not far from Tonbridge, could he be the right one? Maggy

Looking for and Ernest Groves on the 1891 census if possible. Born Tonbridge in sept 1882. Any info appreciated. He appears to be a bit of a Houdini. Can't find him on the 1901 census. Thanks in advance. Nicola
