Rose, As you probably know, Montacute is covered by Yeovil, so this lot are most likely related. Births Jun 1852 Hawker James Yeovil 5c 548 Births Mar 1853 Hawker Henry Thomas Yeovil 5c 558 Births Jun 1859 Hawker Evis Yeovil 5c 548 Births Mar 1860 HAWKER Emily Eliza Yeovil 5c 571 Interestingly there is a David HAWKE living in Montacute in the 1881 census. Mis-translation? Its a possibility to consider: Betsey would have upped and married by then most likely (aged 24) David HAWKE Head M Male 60 Pen Domer, Somerset, England Farm Labourer Susan HAWKE Wife M Female 57 Odcombe, Somerset, England Glover William HAWKE Son Male 13 Montacute, Somerset, England Labourer Kate HAWKE Daug Female 10 Montacute, Somerset, England Scholar address Bishopstown, Montacute, Somerset. This at least gives access to Montacute by moving backwards and forwards through households in the 1881 census! |
