Amy Report 5 May 2004 11:15

Just to let everyone know who asked me to do look ups when I visit the Leeds Archives on 17th May that I haven't forgotten you and will let you know any info I find out! Also if anyone else would like a look up let me know! I'm going on 17th May and the records are baptism, marriage and burial records. Not 100% sure what area they will cover but would imagine it will definately be quite a lot of West Yorkshire and possible some other areas of Yorkshire as well. Amy x

Hi Amy, I am still trying to find the death of William Woodruff born Glossop Derby c 1838. He was living in Sheffield in 1891 (census) and 1894 was living at Burnt Tree Lane, Sheffield. This was on the death cert of his wife and he was given as being present at death. Would it be possible to look for his death after 1894? I can't find him on 1901 census, so may be his death occurred between 1894 and 1901. Hopefully, Margaret

Does Leeds cover Aberford in Yorkshire? If so please could you look up a George Richard Potter born 1877/78/79/80 - father William Edgar. Thank you very much

Please could you look up the birth of my 3rd great grandfather, Joseph Farnish (b. 1816 Huddersfield, Yorks) and his wife Sarah Pulford (b. 1826 Leeds, Yorks). I'm afraid that's all I know, so it may not be feasible. Also Joseph's surname may have the variants Furniss or Furness. Many thanks Paul

P.s - Lauretta would imagine that it will cover Aberford as I'm from Garforth which is about 5 mins down the road and that area is covered! Amy x

Hello Amy Thanks for your kind offer. I have received a wedding cert today for my husband's 3rd great grandparents. They were Matthew Acomb (father James Acomb) and Hannah Cass (father John Cass). All males concerned were farmers. The wedding took place in All Saints, North Street parish of York in 1844, and the given ages for bride and groom were 25 and 24 respectively. I have no idea where in Yorkshire they were born, but would assume in the York area. If you can find anything which would help, it would be much appreciated. Kind regards Pauline

Dear Amy I am new to this site. My husband's great grandfather was Miles Calvert born about 1841 and married a Priscilla (whose maiden name I don't know) who was born in 1843. Miles was from near Halifax and was a farmer and later became a worsted spinner. They had ten children. I would like to have Priscilla's maiden name if possible.
