Hi Again Chloe, I've just had the Vital records disks issued to me - they include for Germany - Baden, Bayern, Hessen-Darmstadt, Lippe, Oldenburg, Prussia, Turigia & Wurtemberg. So if you would like to send the details of who you waant loked up to my e mail address [email protected] I will let you know what i find as soon as I get the chance to do the look up for you. Hi Phil, Can I be really cheeky and ask if you could see if one of my relatives is on the german vri? I don't have much info tho' John Gerdes born 1847 in Germany don't know where. Father was called Henry and he was a farmer. Many thanks Sue

Hello Ladies, I spent over an hour on this & have next to nothing to report sorry - but the disks are very selective & don't have all on by any means. first of all Chloe as it was your posting that started the ball rolling Jacob Spengler - no matches on any spelling Katharina Hexamer - no matches but her is a Michael Heinrich Hexamer on one of the disks as follows Michael Heinrich Hexamer born 18 JAN 1867 christned 21 JAN 1867 mothers name Susanna Hexamer mothers father Adam " mothers mother Susanna Schmitt recorded in Heidelburn,Heidelberg,Baden Source FHL fILM 1053586 (I thought he may be linked to your tree in some way) Jacob - no matches (sorry that's the best I can do) Hi Gloria, Your turn now Ludina Kulling - no matches Eva Papa - no matches Freidrich Kulling - no matches however when I tried surching by surname alone the alternative spelling of Kuehling came up for a deviant of the surname (sorry but I can't let you know what ain't on the disk) Hi Jackie, I think you may be in luck Joannes Adamus Corbet born 23 JUL 1853 Christened 24 JUL 1853 father Antom Corbet mother Catherinae Zoeller Recorded in Kirrweiler, Pfalz, Bayer source FHL Film 367516 no matches for Henry,Harry,Heinrich Hi Sue, this is the best I can do for your John Gerdes Johann Georg Gerdes born 7 AUG 1849 Christened 23 SEP 1849 father Johann Hinrich Gerdes mother Adelheid Harber Recorded in Ritterhude,Hannover,Perussen Source FHL Film 89532 Well I hope that some of the above helped out a little but I wish there had been a lot more on the disks All the very best Phil

Hi Phil, I have been pulling my hair out and am now at a dead end i have been looking for an Alwine Bertha Krohn who was also known as Bertha Johanna Krohn was born in august 1884, she married William H Killington in Germany, Lived together in Germany and came back to England for birth of sons 1909 & 1916 Edward and Gilbert Killington Would be very grateful if you are the man to look into this for me.... Hi Philip Which library is it that stocks the German VRI please? I am trying to find further details of a German ancestor (Johann Neumann) who lived in Riga, Latvia circa 1854 and would be intrigued to know if there are any disks I can look at. Regards Helen
