Shan thanks for offering, I'd be really grateful if you can help. I'm after Elizabeth Baker born 1864 (she was 7 in 1871) in Bethnal Green. Also Charles Lewis who when he married in 1885 was 27 and a wheelwright (born Hornsey London??). Many thanks

Shan I wonder if you can find these Smalls in South Shields/Westoe, co durham (I have them in 1881/91/1901): Frances/Francis and Margaret (though by 1881 Francis was a widower) Frances/Francis and Ellen Nicholas and Catherine There are probably others but as I don't yet know who they married, I'll play safe and stick to those for now! It would be great if you manage to find anything. Thanks in advance for taking the trouble. Jan

Shan Would you be able to look in Ancestry's parish & probate records to see if there is a death recorded for a William Gray of Hardley or Limpenhoe, Norfolk between 1851-1861? Does the 1861 census have Norfolk on it? Many thanks. Helen

Hi Shan 1871 Thank you very much. I have a request that may take a bit of Experimentation if that is possible! Firstly I am seeking William FAIRY born 1848 in Woodwalton /Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire. In 1871 he should have with him his wife Martha Ellen and perhaps a child? Both ages should be <23> in 1871. Ancestry is very bad for mistranscriptions and I have found other members of the family transcribed as Farry/ Farey/ Ferry/ Feary!! On the 1881 this couple have been mistranscribed as HENRY and they are living at 2 Semley Place London. In 1869 -2 years previously when they married they were at George St. They married at St Judes Chelsea. I imagine they would be around the Chelsea, Kensington, Lambeth areas as that's where family lived at that time. William was a leather bag maker at the time of his marrieage and again in 1881. (Cordwainer) can you search by occupation as an alternative? Very grateful for any help Marlene

Hi Joan, the earliest census on ancestry is 1871 so it would be very unlikley that your Barkers would be together Regard's Shan

Hi Shan Thanks for your kind offer. Wonder if you can find me 2 missing fathers? I've just received marriage cert for my great grandfather Wiliam Hudson. His father is named as Jonathan Hudson (deceased) but I can find no trace of him. His wife's name I think was Sarah. William was born 1840/41 at Easton on the Hill, Northamptonshire and the marriage took place in 1877 at Stamford. Stamford comes under both Northamptonshire and bits under Lincolnshire. The bride's father is named as Edward Starsmore (deceased). Her name was Caroline Starsmore. Thanks in anticipation. Jenny
